Junior Graphic Designer
We are looking for a highly creative junior graphic designer looking to develop their professional experience in designing for a range of media including print, web, and digital. This role reports directly to our Art Director, but also works collaboratively with our Editorial and Sales team.

Job Description
Assist the Art Director in creating branding, sales, and marketing collateral for clients primarily in the tourism industry – this could include corporate brochures, posters, signage, pop-up stands, and logos etc.
• Build and revise advertisements for magazines
• Provide editorial design solutions for feature articles in magazines
• Source photography for magazine articles and blogs (print and web quality).
• Assist in the creation of digital design work, including display banners, website mock-ups, and infographics
• Help to produce internal sales and marketing material to promote the agency and generate sales
• Collaborate with team members to launch projects
• Production and proofing of magazines before press
• Willingness to learn new software (Adobe, MAPublisher plugin)
• Build, update, revise, and create maps

Qualifications
• A Graphic Design (or related) degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality results.
• Rudimentary understanding of magazine production.
• Experience with design software (e.g. InDesign) and graphics editing tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Familiarity with design techniques (e.g. prototyping)
• Understanding of visual elements (layout, type, and fonts)
• Teamwork skills
• A keen eye for detail
• Time management and multitasking abilities
• Creativity skills and problem-solving aptitude

Additional Assets
• Experience in the design or communications industries.
• Understanding web design/content management systems (e.g. WordPress)
•Understanding Adobe XD & prototyping
•Understanding GIS and mapping software (MAPublisher)
