In 2019, Something Else Steakhouse in Jasper approached us about a new website. This restaurant is locally owned and operated by the Balomenos family and offers casual dining with a summertime sidewalk patio to enjoy their diverse menu.
Their original website was dated and not mobile friendly. What's more, the original developer left the country with control of the website, domain, and Google information. This was becoming a major issue since the site had old information and desperately needed an update.
While we were designing the new website, we set about getting control of the old site so we could move ahead with the our new product.
Working within the needs and requirements of the Something Else management, our team sketched out wire frames, concept ideas, and colour palettes that evolved into working graphics for the website that met all the needs described by Something Else. This included the illustration for the background of the website. We also advised on a supporting photoshoot to place the delicious food front and centre, driving the website’s visual concept. We wrote all the writing the copy after a series of interviews to get the family story and the overall tone for the website.
